Deerfield Township Harvest Festival Parade

Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at NOON

*Note the start time and day of the week!

 Parade Passes Festival from about 12:15 to 1:15 PM

The harvest festival parade is one of the area's best. It begins at the intersection of Bridgeton and Morton Avenues at 12 noon  It travels down Morton Avenue to Rosenhayn Fire Hall and the festival site. The first entries reach the festival area at 12:15 p.m.  This year, groups from throughout South Jersey will join the fun to help celebrate farming.  See floats, hear music from various bands, and enjoy cars, trucks and farm equipment of all kinds.

The parade features area high school bands Deerfield's Farmer of the Year and past farmers of the year are special guests in the parade. Other entries include farm equipment, marching groups, costumed characters, clowns, and fire and rescue vehicles from throughout South Jersey.

Entries are welcome.

High school bands receive $500 to help cover expenses for entering the parade.

Home-made Floats will compete for cash prizes. $300 first prize, $200 second prize, $100 third prize.

Floats may not be professionally built for prize money.

All other categories compete for trophies and/or certificates.

Entries except Antique / Customer Cars, Fire and Rescue Vehicles and Farm Tractors are to report to the the parade staging area at Deerfield Township School by 11 AM.

Note: You may pre-register or register the day of the parade.

Registration and Pre-Judging is 10 AM to 11:30 AM

Shiloh Avenue in Rosenhayn, street next to the railroad crossing, south side of the rail line.

PARADE SAFETY NOTICE:

For the safety of parade watchers and children, candy may be handed out along the parade route by people walking

 along the parade route but may not be thrown from vehicles or floats.
