The name GOOD TYMES speaks for itself, they
guarantee you a GOOD TYME, but they have a good time playing for you as
well. This band is a combination of talent, history, and
technology. Even though the birth of “The Good Tymes” was 1996, their
interest in music dates back to the late 50’s and early 60’s. It was
then that every neighborhood had at least one garage band playing in it.
It was a time when county fairs and high school functions were reasons
to have a dance or a “battle of the bands” night. Everyone wanted to
play and sound like the Beatles, The Temptations, The Stones, Bill Haley
and the list goes on. Everyone in this band were influenced by the music
from that era: swing, blues, do-wop, rock and roll, psychedelic, and
even hard rock. Now 20 years later, they have found
their friendships endured and blossomed, the music sounds better and is
still fun to play. Because of technology we find that not only can we
play the songs we fondly remember, but can also replicate the sound that
in the past could only be done by studio musicians. A five piece band
can now sound like a full orchestra. The Good Tymes have shared the
stage with the likes of the Duprees, Emeralds, and Soul Cruisers just to
name a few. Though mostly known to perform at outdoor concerts and
festivals throughout the South Jersey and Philadelphia areas, they also
play private venues and parties as well. Their style of music is from
the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s.
