ZOE

ENJOY THEIR FREE LIVE PERFORMANCE AT THE FESTIVAL

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 9 - 3:55 PM

From Grover Washington, Jr. and Pieces of a Dream to Jeff Lorber and Gamble & Huff, Philadelphia has always been a hotbed for exciting and groundbreaking R&B and jazz. Life Records recording artists ZOÉ (dzo-ay’), with their smooth yet funky grooves have incredible energy that flows just as powerfully as those legendary influences.

The group is comprised of five talented musicians whose melodic compositions produce extraordinarily compelling music. Currently, members of ZOÉ include: saxophonist, Reggie Harris, keyboardist Cleveland Belin, Jr., drummer David Ferebee; bassist H. Maurice Fonville and percussionist/trumpeter Bolivar “Chico” Guadalupe - all of which contribute to the original songwriting and vocals.  They enjoy creating and performing their own material.

Zoe’ likes to interact with the audience as well as perform for them. Even though they are Jazz Musicians who love what they are doing; they also give thanks to God for their gifts and for allowing them to share their talents with others. Zoe’ has captivated audiences throughout the east coast with their tendency to mesmerize. They aspire to have this effect on audiences worldwide.

Zoe’ undertook it’s first recording endeavor in April 2001, self producing and self promoting their first CD entitled “Long Time”. The CD was released in July 2001. Two songs from Zoe’s “Long Time” CD were added to a compilation project called “The Pneu Crew”, Itz All Brand Pneu”, which is a collection of new gospel artists from up & down the east coast. Mountain Top Records produced the project. The second CD is entitled “Heaven Bound” and the third CD “Let’s Fly” is on target for early fall release.

Since Zoe’s inception, they have enjoyed many accomplished performances. Some of which include: Warm Daddy’s in Philadelphia; Sadiki’s in Philadelphia; Winner of Rotary Club’s “Cumberland County’s Got Talent” contest, Justin’s in New York (owned by P. Diddy); Wiggins Park – Philadelphia; Constitution Center –Philadelphia; Philadelphia Convention Center; Clef Club – Philadelphia; National Letter Carriers Convention at Tropicana Casino; Atlantic City’s grand opening of The Walk; entertained TV/Radio WMVB/QVC Channel 2 interview with Allan and Lyn; Showcase with Soul Brothers Production;

  Introduced to Charmane Curtis of Mountain Top Records; performed at Soul Café – NY 42nd St.; Friends Health Connection programs; billing with Iyanla Vanzant; billing with Kathy Ireland; Six Flaggs Great Adventure, Milo’s TV program; several radio interviews: 1110 AM with Fred Blane, WTHE 1520 AM in NY with Dr. Carol Porter, WDAS (Phila) 1480AM; and WUSS AM Rejoice with Lady Dee in Atlantic City. In 2004 Zoe’ opened for the great jazz vocalist, Phil Perry.

ZOÉ has performed with or opened for: Mindi Abair, Keb Mo, Phil Perry, Jeff Kashiwa, Sherry Winston, Dave Koz, Jonathon Butler, Sheila E. and numerous notable, inspirational speakers. ZOÉ has captivated audiences beyond the Philly/South Jersey area with their infectious rhythms that roll from smokin’ funk to supremely sensual.

Their newly released third CD, aptly titled Let’s Fly, is a high spirited project with instantly compelling melodies over tight rhythms that draws the listener in and keeps them engaged from start to finish.

Zoe’ has received coverage in several newspaper publications as well as in Jazz Review Magazine, has sold CDs nationally and internationally. CDs can be purchased by contacting zoe@cdbaby.com. For email contact sgrsrn@aol.com

If you like Smooth Jazz, you will love the silky sounds of Zoe’.
